SPOILER ALERT !!!!!!!!!
The movie was awesome! I loved the action sequences the way Batman took on all Riddlers men, and right as it seemed like he was about to pass out he actually had a pack of adrenaline for such a situation. It all really played out as a detective story. Paul Dano really was fucking crazy as Riddler, especially with his crazy hamminess and his villainous breakdown when Batman was talking to him at Arkham. That was one hell of a mislead how they made everyone think that he knew his secret identity but it turns out that he didn’t. By the way, if that was The Joker at the end he was talking to then that was a terrible laugh. Overall, the movie was fucking badass! Matt Reeves really knew what he was doing when he cast Robert Pattinson. I should’ve known that there was more to him than just Edward Cullen. He now has my respect.
@Guccigang2121 I liked Joker's laugh, but his voice needs work.
Guys I've got some questions about the movie, can you maybe awnser them after you've seen the movie, because I really can't wait:
-How much do you see of the Joker? In a early spoiler review I've heard only parts of his face were seen but not in total. And does he look like the real Joker or barely not?
-Do we see the Catwoman suit from the leaked test footage appear? I really like the classic Catwoman design of that suit and it fits to Zoë Kravitz's Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
-And speaking of Selina, in the same spoiler review the person who is reviewing says that Selina goes left and dissappears in the fog. Is that real or not?
-And then my last question; Are there also hints to other iconic villains like Scarecrow or Two-Face or are there hints to the other members of the Justice League?
@SpiderFan2104 I haven't seen the movie myself yet. But I might be able to answer some questions.
Joker's silhouette was seen. You could figure out scars and somewhat pale skin, but it didn't seem like a full appearance.
Hush was teased and the ending also teased No Man's Land event. I heard that Bludhaven was also referenced.
If you haven’t seen the movie, then why did you make this post asking for spoiler reviews?
@Guccigang2121 I..... like spoilers.
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.
I absolutely loved this. We finally got a live action Batman movie that really leaned into the detective aspect, which a lot of the previous Batman movies have overlooked (as much as I love a lot of them). Robert Pattinson was a fantastic Batman and proved everyone who doubted him wrong, Zoe Kravitz was an amazing Catwoman and Paul Dano was a terrifying Riddler. The rest of the cast were great too, especially Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis and John Tuturro. I also loved that they made it a crime thriller similar to the type of movie you would expect from David Fincher. The breadcrumbs they laid were vry intriguing and I can't wait to return to this world that they have created.
@SpiderFan2104 The Joker is kept obscured in shadow, so we don't get a good look at him. I've seen the movie twice now and the only detail that really stood out to me was his crazy hair.
The only Catwoman suit we get in the movie is the one from the trailers, which is a black leather suit and a balaclava with two points on top to look like cat ears. There's also no fog at the end of the movie. Batman watches her through his rearview mirror until she disappears over the horizon.
There are no real hints to other villains. The Riddler seems to have some elements of Hush in him and even seems to refernce this during one of his messages. Peter Sarsgaard plays Gotham's DA, Gil Colson, who gets killed, which could set up Harvey Dent becoming the new DA. There's also no reference to the Justice League or other superheroes and it's unlikely that there ever will be, since Matt Reeves said that they're going for a more grounded take on the Batman mythos and staying away from the fantastical elements.
Im a fairly casual batman fan, it was very good.
Evreyone gave good performances, action was solid, I liked the detective storyline. Zoe kratiz killed it as catwoman. Possibly my favorite live action catwoman? Which is a bold statement since I loved the pfieffer and hathaway. Penguin was pretty fun though Not a big fan of catwoman and riddler's design (should have just given him goggles or sunglasses), but I did like penguin and batman's design.
I though the flood in gotham wasn't that compelling. I did like some of the visuals of batman fighting those riddler goons on the screen. The twisterooni on the "Im vengeance" was also cool.
At first I thought robert pattinsons batman wasn't that empathetic, expressive and just kind of seemed like a jerk. But I realized that was kind of the point, I liked how they kind of challenged the wayne's legacy. And im glad they didn't just do "tHe CoUrT oF oWlS wErE rEsPoNsIbLe AlL aLoNG" thing that for some reason evreybody wanted.
I also loved the joker (Im happy he is in the movie but no a centeral focus, like in hush) he is my favorite character in dc comics so seeing him). Barry keoghan did a very good job,i loved the buildup. And the design was pretty cool but loyal to the comics (can't believe DC just realized he doesn't need that shaggy haircut for evrey movie) it kinda reminded me of gotham's joker design but actualy good.
I hope the sequel gives a bigger role to penguin and maybe expand on the jokers role building him up as the big bad of the third movie, Maybe in movie 3 he breaks out with the riddler and the newly recruited harleen quinzell. A lot of people want a mr freeze movie, which could be cool (Pun not intended). Maybe another sympathetic batman villian like killer croc could also work for a more unconventional batman story. Or maybe all 3 since matt reeves has no intrest in delving into all of their origin stories like spider-man 3 (thank god).
I give it 8 bats out of 10 bats.
Finally saw the movie. Pretty good and comparison with TDK is inevitable cuz they have certain similar themes.
8/10.
What do you think?
