The Assassination of Pete Savage was the murder of police commissioner Pete Savage by the Riddler as part of his extreme campaign to expose corruption in Gotham City.

Kidnapping Savage[]
Following the death of Don Mitchell, Jr., the Riddler continued his extreme campaign and kidnapped Pete Savage while he was on his way to his nightly workout and injected him with rat poison.
Riddler's Broadcast[]
The Riddler then put a rat maze over his head, and broadcasted it to the Gotham News. The footage showed Savage with tape over his mouth, reading "NO MORE LIES", and rats biting his hands. As Riddler spoke, Savage could be heard squirming and whimpering. Later, when Batman and Jim Gordon went to investigate his body at the morgue, they found it shredded and mutilated beyond recognition.
