- "That's the problem with this city. Everyone's afraid to stand up and do the right thing, but I'm not."
- ―Bella Reál to Jim Gordon[src]
Mayor Bella Reál is a grassroots politician and the incumbent mayor of Gotham City.
Reál was born in Gotham City at some point in 1993. Not much is known about her childhood, although it is possible she grew fond of politics during her early youth, which was even more influenced by the city's never ending corruption.
Reál has a dedicated, confident, and fearless no-nonsense type of personality. She's dedicated to helping clean up Gotham's corruption through her mayoral campaign as she believes no else will step up to do the job. She also isn't afraid to call out others for their faults. This is shown when she criticizes Bruce Wayne at Don Mitchell's funeral as she believes he isn't using enough of his wealth, power and his reputation to help benefit the people of Gotham. She is also not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. This is best shown when, despite the protests of Lt. Jim Gordon for her to be evacuated to safety, she told him how the problem in the city is that everyone's afraid of stepping up and doing the job to clean it up before marching out to help reassure and direct citizens to safety.
