- "They're dead because the Maronis and Gigantes got the power to take you out. You want revenge? What the f*ck is stoppin' ya? They're right over there... across the Elliot Bridge. A bridge that was built by your ancestors, Donny Boy, but it ain't named Sullivan. Huh? No, it's named for the rich crooks who took credit for your family's hard work."
- ―Oz Cobb to Donald Sullivan during the Gold Summit[src]
The Elliot Bridge is a bridge in Gotham City that was named after the Elliot Family.[1]
History[]
The Sullivan family had an important role in the construction of the Elliot Bridge. However, the bridge was ultimately named after the Elliots, a wealthy family in Gotham City.[1]
Many decades later, Oz Cobb held his Gold Summit with the Sullivan Crime Family, the Burnley Town Massive, the Triads, the Odessa Mob and the LoBoys underneath the Elliot Bridge. During the meeting, Penguin reminded Donald Sullivan of the crucial role his ancestors played during the construction of the bridge in order to convince him to join forces with the Cobb Crime Family.[1]
Notes[]
- In DC Comics, the Elliots were one of Gotham City's founding families along with the Waynes, the Cobblepots, the Arkhams and the Kanes. As established in the storyline Batman: Gates of Gotham, Edward Elliot (an ancestor of Thomas Elliot) commissioned one of Gotham's main bridges during the last quarter of the 19th century.
- An investigative reporter named Edward Elliot was previously referenced in the movie The Batman. However, this Edward Elliot was born in the 20th century, while the Edward Elliot of the comics lived during the 19th century.
