In 1724, Gotham City was founded by a professional architect and engineer named William Gotham.[1]
Flooding of Gotham City[]
In 2022, Gotham was flooded after the city's sourrounding seawalls were blown by the Riddler, a serial killer and terrorist who took extreme measures to expose corruption within Gotham. As a result of the disaster, Gotham was left in ruins, leading to the implementation of martial law in the city and the activation of the National Guard to assist in recovery efforts. Gotham Square Garden was used as a temporary evacuation center, with helicopters arriving at the complex to airlift injured Gothamites. Penguin watched the scene from Iceberg, now his base of operations.
