Taj Maroni was the son of Salvatore and Nadia Maroni, and heir to the Maroni Crime Family.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Taj was born as the son of crime boss Salvatore Maroni and his wife Nadia in Gotham City, New Jersey. Taj was raised with much love by his parents. As the only son, he was expected to be the future Don of the Maroni Crime Family, so when the time came he joined the family, but only as a field man, as he was too impulsive to hold a position of responsibility.
In 2020, his father was arrested in a drug raid orchestrated by Carmine Falcone, his father's main rival, causing interim leadership of the Maronis to pass to his mother, Nadia.

Taj was very enthusiastic and temperamental, and didn't hesitate to take a life. He was fiercely loyal to his parents, and always obeyed their orders.[1] However, Taj also shows himself to be immature and reckless, publicly broadcasting his location via social media during a gang war. This led to his capture by the Penguin.

- Taj is of Iranian and Italian heritage.
- The name 'Taj' means "Crown" in Iranian.
- Taj is shown to have a Tiktok account in episode 5.
Behind the scenes[]
- Taj is an original character from the Penguin series. In the comics Salvatore Maroni had children, but none of them were named Taj. In the New Earth continuity, he had twin sons, Umberto and Pino, and in the New 52, he had only one son named CJ.
